Welcome from the Head of Department

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the home pages of the Department of Telecommunication Sciences and Technology of the University of Peloponnese in Greece. It is the only Department in Greece which focuses exclusively in the discipline of Telecommunications and it has 100 new students every year.

The department delivers university education degrees at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. They consist of modern subject knowledge, using well equipped laboratories and expert staff.

We aim to offer to the students whatever knowledge and skills are required so as they shape and become good scientists equipped with modern enabling telecommunications knowledge and applications and services using multimedia. 

We aim to prepare graduates to be ready in a continuously competitive work environment, to be employable on whatever opportunities may become available in Greece or abroad, within the telecommunication industries, education or research.

We offer high level university education leading to B.Sc., MSc and Ph.D. degrees in the fields of our expertise.

The broader role of the Department is to become a platform for scientific progress and research within the academic community of the University of Peloponnese and within the broader academic world. The highly skilled and specialized teaching staff encourage and contribute to the development of activity groups between students and staff within the lectures, scientific activities and projects of the Department.

We carry out wide ranging research including but not limited in Signal Processing, Encoding, Antennas, Communication Theory, Wireless Communications, Optical Communications, Electronics, Networks, Internet Applications and Web Services.

The Department strives to become a point of reference, as a prototype university education unit and contributes to collaborations with the local authorities and business on development projects of National, European and International programs, assisting the local community and interested businesses.
